Fall-O-Ween Home Decorating Contest

Date: Enter by October 24

Decorate the exterior of your home for a chance to win spooktacular prizes! Prizes will be awarded to the top two best-dressed homes in the categories of “Haunted Halloween” and “Fall Festive Home.” Click here for details, rules, and to enter.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Organizer: Highlands Youth (HY) Advisory Board

New this year! All ages of Issaquah Highlands youth are invited to submit a picture of your carved or decorated pumpkin for a chance to win a $25 gift card. Middle school HY board members will choose the winners in the following categories: age 5 and under, elementary school students, middle school students, and high school students. Monster Mash 5K

Help the Issaquah Schools Foundation (ISF) raise a monstrous amount of support for local students in the ISF Monster Mash 5K! 100% of race proceeds support local students via ISF. Get more information and register >>

Halloween Digital Light Display

On Halloween night, be sure to stop by Blakley Hall to view a spooky digital window display, viewable from the sidewalk outside the building.

We welcome all Issaquah Highlands veterans, their families, and all community members who would like to take an opportunity to honor our veterans to join us for our annual Veterans Day celebration. Please check the website calendar for details; we will announce if the event is virtual or in person.

Santa

Letters to Santa

Date: November 15-December 8
Location: Blakely Hall, 2550 NE Park Drive
Organizer: Highlands Youth Advisory Board

Kids of all ages can drop letters to Santa in the special mailbox outside Blakely Hall. No stamp needed; the Highlands Youth Advisory Board will ensure letters get to the North Pole. All letters dropped by December 8 will receive a response (be sure to include your mailing address in your letter).

Issaquah Turkey Trot

Date: November 25-28
Location: Across Issaquah
Organizer: Issaquah Turkey Trot

Proceeds go to the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank. Includes a social-distancing option of seven different routes to choose from and enjoy anytime during the holiday weekend. Walk, run, or jog! A great family event. All ages are invited! Register online at isssaquahturkeytrot.org.

Scout Christmas Tree Curbside Pickup and Recycling

Organizer: Boy Scouts of Sammamish and Issaquah

Have your Christmas tree recycled by local Boy Scouts. Please place your tree curbside by 8 a.m. on January 8. Suggested donation is $15-$25 per tree. Donate online (preferred) or attach a check to your tree payable to: “Scouts BSA.” Get more information >>

Snowman Building Contest

For the second year in a row, keep an eye on the forecast and get your mittens ready for our Snowman Building Contest. We’ll watch for snowfall and officially announce the contest on the official Issaquah Highlands Facebook page and our website when it’s time to get building. To enter to win a prize, submit a photo of your creation online.
