Work Begins on High Street Linear Park!

IHCA Executive Director Sarah Hoey and Landscape Manager Lyle Dickey met with the City of Issaquah and Taylor Morrison home builders to kick off the start of construction for the new High Street Linear Park in the Westridge neighborhood of Issaquah Highlands.

High Street Linear Park will be the first of two parks planned in Westridge North, a neighborhood of 73 new single-family homes currently under construction by Taylor Morrison. The park plan was approved in 2019 after extensive public review through both Issaquah’s Urban Village Development Commission and the City Council. (Polygon Homes was the original developer of the residential neighborhood.)

The park replaces a portion of High Street with a 1/3-mile-long multi-use trail, at least one shelter and several activity nodes designed for all ages. This trail will provide and important connection from the northern edge of Issaquah Highlands to the trail around Swedish hospital.

High Street Linear Park is a collaborative effort between the IHCA, the City of Issaquah and Taylor Morrison. Construction is planned to start in November 2020, weather dependent. Watch for updates here and in Issaquah Highlands’ official social media, such as: Facebook
