About the IDEA HOME

The IDEA HOME was designed to demonstrate that Built Green features can be easily and economically incorporated into any new home. The design and floor plan were created to compete head-on with all other homes in its price range for eye-appeal, quality, value and livability. The home we ended up with is rated well above the “Three Star” level of Built Green, which is currently the highest standard. The home building team was allowed only a 5% cost premium (about $20,000) for all Built Green features included in this home. These are real numbers; donated materials and services are counted at market value! Our goal is to let you see for yourself, and prove for yourself, that a Built Green home is the best overall value on the market today.
