Rain Water Collection

It's almost like something out of the Farmer's Almanac, an old technology becomes new again. The roof and roof deck gutter system has been designed to divert rainwater into a series of rain barrels where it can be stored for irrigation use. Four 55-gallon rain barrels are at ground level and are used to irrigate the gardens. A fifth barrel is on the roof deck where it can be used to irrigate the roof garden planters. Overflow enters a drainage line that helps recharge the natural wetlands adjoining the property. Rainwater collection systems reduce the use of potable water for irrigation, lowering water and sewer fees that are based on potable water use.
