Many features in this home contribute to a philosophy of "treading lightly on this earth." We have several links to the left which will describe many of the special systems in the IDEA HOME that contribute to its sustainability. Also if you click on "saves money" above, you will be able to see the many systems and design features that help this home save energy and save water, which contribute greatly lowering its impact on the environment.

As the home was being built, special attention was paid to using less materials so less scrap ends up in land fills, and to recyling job site wastes rather than hauling waste to land fills. Many of these initiatives are not only good for the environment, but reduce construction costs as well.
