One of the most appealing aspects of living
in an urban village community like Issaquah
Highlands is the wonderful diversity or our
neighbors. We all have the opportunity to walk,
jog, play and party with people of all different
backgrounds, walks of life and places of origin.
In that spirit, the merchants in our retail village
on High Street are inviting all Highlands neighbors
to join them for a “World of Celebration”
on Saturday, December 9. The day will be
themed around “Holiday Colors” calling attention
to some of the many ways the people of
this world celebrate winter holidays.
Each merchant will be featuring a different country
and offering special values for Highlands
residents who visit on that day. A special Toys
for Tots pick up team will be on hand to receive
donations of new toys for children in need.
For special family fun, the merchants are sponsoring
a holiday ornament coloring contest. Free
blank ornaments, featuring a story about how
the holidays are celebrated in one of the world’s
countries, will be available from each merchant
as part of a neighborhood coloring contest. The
ornaments can be decorated singly or as an
entire set. A panel of judges will award prizes
for the most creative entrants on Saturday,
December 23. Prizes include a $500 shopping
spree to be used at any or all Issaquah Highlands
merchants.
The participating merchants include Sorella Spa
and Salon, Caffe Ladro, Occhio Vision Care,
Ricenroll, Curves, Highlands Cleaners, Subway,
Marcela’s Mexican Grill and Sip Wine Bar and
Restaurant.
