Travel Club Night
See Where It Takes You!
October Topic: Snow Birds!
Issaquah Highlands is uniquely blessed with well-traveled residents. And some of us just wish we were!
Whether you’ve traveled around the world or are planning your first adventure, the Travel Club offers monthly and informative Travel Nights at Blakely Hall as a way to share and learn about different countries and individual experiences.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to escape our cold, dark, wet northwest winters and spend them somewhere sunny and warm? Join local snowbirds Bob Swearingen and Mary Hall who will tell you all about the charming desert playground of Palm Springs, California and other delightful places in the beautiful Coachella Valley. Learn about the area’s history, temporary rental options, and some of the many cultural, entertainment, and recreational opportunities available; then we’ll take a side trip to see the unique and stunning scenery in nearby Joshua Tree National Park.
Join us the 2nd Wednesday of each month for one to two short presentations on unique destinations and travel tips.
The bulk of the evening will be unstructured, get-acquainted time so we can trade travel stories. Light snacks are provided but feel free to bring a beverage (perhaps a bottle of wine from your favorite country!) to enjoy.
We hope to see you there.
