Elementary School Announced for Issaquah HighlandsJanet Barry, Superintendent of the Issaquah School District, announced that the new elementary school to be built in Issaquah Highlands will open for the 2006-2007 school year. This eagerly awaited news is making quite a splash with Issaquah Highlands residents.
The timing of the new school was based on an actual count of children currently living in Issaquah Highlands along with projections of future children residents. Those who have been waiting for this announcement would like to salute all the Issaquah Highlands parents for doing their job so well!
The timeline for the new school includes the following key dates: selection of planning principal by May 15, 2005; call for construction bids by May 30, 2005; groundbreaking by July 15, 2005; school opening September 2006.
