Monday: The Issaquah Highlands Community Association (IHCA) honored by the City of Issaquah with the first ever Community Environmental Award, presented at Monday’s City Council meeting.

Wednesday: Grand Ridge Elementary School WALK or BIKE to school day – It’s EARTH DAY after all!

Wednesday: The IHCA stages an Earth Day release of Lady Bugs in the garden at Grand Ridge Elementary School. Our HOA fully embraces the community mantra of “Living Green” as evidence by this application of biological pest control.

Wednesday: Grand Ridge Elementary School ups the ante for Waste-Free-Wednesday since it will also be Earth Day! IH Residents Amy Dukes (City of Issaquah Arts Director) and Nina Milligan (City of Issaquah, Councilmember) will be Waste Auditors as the students at GRE manage waste diversions to compost and recycling in hopes of doing better than the other schools.

Saturday: Community Gardeners will be weeding and building and fixing this weekend at Vista Gardens. This work party helps to satisfy all community garden plot holders obligation to maintain the common spaces at the garden.
